Saying Good-Bye

goodbye teachingWhen I was done teaching highschool I got a school mug, a key chain, and this beautiful poem.

When people are in our lives for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need. They have come to assist through difficulty, to provide guidance and support, to aid physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are. They are there for the reason we need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, the relationship comes to an end. Sometimes the need has been filled and it’s time to move on. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes we do not want the reason to be gone. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done.

Thank you to those who have met our need and are now moving on. Your REASON for being with us will be cherished. You will find new REASONS.

When people come into our lives for a SEASON, it is because our turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They may bring an experience of peace or laughter. They may teach something new. They usually bring an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But only for a season.

And then they move on.

To those who have shared with us a SEASON, thank you and best wishes as you move on to the next SEASON

LIFETIME relationships teach lifetime lessons; those things we must build upon in order to have a solid foundation. Our job is to accept the lesson, love the people; and put what we have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of our lives. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant. These people make a difference that lasts a lifetime.

To those who have been a part of building our LIFETIME relationships, thank you, and best wishes as you move on to new LIFETIME ventures.

I love people who have been in my life for a REASON, a SEASON, and a LIFETIME thank you.

I think Dr Seuss said it best: “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.”

I loved this thought. I’m not sure who to credit for this piece and after google I know it’s popular but still unknown. If anyone out there knows, please leave it in the comments and I will edit it. I hope you enjoyed this thought as much as I did!
